Thoughts on AURORA...

Last spring we were at one of the local garden nurseries and out of the corner of my eye I

saw this lovely oriental lily growing in a pot and I fell in love immediately and knew exactly

which piece of glass I wanted to compose it with.

When I got the flowers and the glass into the beautiful bright sunlight I was mesmerized!

The beauty was exquisite!

Each time I looked at the photograph of it I thought,

"This is so beautiful....and will be so difficult to paint."

The beauty was so compelling that I had to paint it.

And I was right about the difficulty,

it was technically the most challenging painting I have done.

But OH SO WORTH IT!

Every now and then a really great challenge can make you prove to yourself what you really can do!

(I just won't be painting this piece of glass again soon.)
