My friend Arleta Pech paints wonderful  traditional still life paintings using oils.

She painted for years in watercolor and has taken all of that knowledge and skill

in working with transparent colors, and translated it into working with oils.

She wrote a terrific book about watercolor painting and is one of the best teachers ever.

Take a look at her informative website and all of her lovely images.

Linda Thompson loves marine life and manatees are some of her favorites.

Take a look at her website to see her view of the life and

relationships that are going on underwater.

You will immediately see how much she cares for the creatures who dwell there.

Her paintings are infused with the magical light that penetrates into the watery depths.

Randy Pijoan 's nightscapes vibrate with the excitement of city lights in the evening.

Whether it's a more intimate scene like the one shown here or

a street scene filled with vehicles and and buildings lit up for miles

he shows us how colorful the nighttime can be.

He is equally skilled at revealing the beauty of the natural landscape,

up close and in its vastness, beckoning us to become a part of it.

Joanne Burney paints portraits, of people and of trees.  She calls her tree paintings

"intimate landscapes".  She loves their structure, colors and patterns and "the sense

that each has a spirit".  I love that!!!  And I love the title of this painting

"Arms of Mother Nature".

I think you will be enchanted by her trees and landscapes too.

THE ART RENEWAL CENTER

This group and website was founded on the belief that the Modernist Art of the 20th Century was a big hoax.  It denigrated beauty and meaning into art that was touted by critics to be superior to that which has human emotions woven into it.  The eloquence and scholarship of the writing is a rare treat, and the art that is presented is of immeasurable beauty.

GAMBLIN ARTISTS COLORS

Their website is one the most interesting and informative resources about how to paint safely and properly using oil paints.  There is a wealth of information about their mediums, what the pigments are made of, where they come from, the history of oil painting and useful everyday information for oil painters.  You can sign up for their email newsletter that is also very interesting.
