Thoughts on RUFFLED DANCERS

I continue to love and be influenced by some of the 17th century Dutch flower and still life painters.

Some of the artists of that time really captured the beauty and individuality of the blooms. No matter what century it is,

parrot tulips in the light are so animated and gorgeous. When they are touched by the light,

they move toward it and open their petals in this glorious dance.

When I saw this vase and how the light sparkled through the swirls cut into it,

I knew it would be perfect with these tulips. The leaf with a twist

was the perfect balance to the dancing flowers.
