SPRING 20 x 19

Thoughts on SPRING...

I saw this little pottery vase in one of my favorite stores

and I loved that the shape and color of it are like a robin's egg;

it just said "Spring" to me.

Tulips are often in the same shape so I knew I wanted to put a tulip with it.

At the foot of the Rocky Mountains spring also means snow and I have seen my tulips

survive through some wet, heavy snowstorms, so I arranged the drapery to look like

drifts of snow. This time of year, just as quickly as the snows come, they go, and then we have

bright beautiful sunshine, so the light is the sun after the storms....spring!
