Thoughts on Nestled Jewel...
I love painting larger than life and this rose is about 14 inches across,
so it is definitely LARGER THAN LIFE!
The visual impact is very dramatic!
It is the first in a new series of paintings with flowers in a nest of tissue paper.
I really like the contrast of the soft petals in the crunchy paper,
but I also want the paper to evoke a continuation of the swirling flower petals.
The pink flower created wonderful reflections on the tissue paper, which I enhanced because I liked them so much.
This is painted on canvas, and the image is painted to wrap around the stretcher bars it is mounted on.
It is not framed, but certainly could be.
