Thoughts on Tenacity...

On the route for my daily walk I go by a house that has
several rose bushes planted in the space between the sidewalk and the street,
They are surrounded by rocks that are about the size of my hand.
After the people who planted them moved, the next owners completely ignored the roses...
no fertilizer, no pruning, not even any water other than rain,
which can be in short supply in July and August.
Most plants would have died, but those roses did not.
They haven't thrived, but they have survived.
This painting is a tribute to them.

This painting is on canvas that is gallery wrapped,
with a floater frame to protect the sides.
